Crafting Community for Climate Action


For Spring 2025, we partnered with textile artist Tuija Hansen to offer climate action-inspired workshops facilitated by our members!

 

A variety of artist-led workshops were hosted at Lakehead University Visual Arts Department, including:



Up-Cycling Fabric, paper, and styrofoam into Sculptural Vessels with Natalia Moswka.

Recycled broken ceramic mosaics with Georgia Wilkins.

Recycled mesh and plastic bags to “Plastic Yarn” making and Crochet with Tuija Hansen.

Collaborative Upcycled Textile and Builders Foam Mosaic with Kayeleigh Larocque.

Collaborative Textile Mosaic, Installed at Rebel Salad, Thunder Bay, ON.

Open Studio with Mindful Makers Collective at Lakehead University Visual Arts Department



Donation drive hosted by EcoSuperior. Thank you to the community members who donated unfinished craft projects, crafting supplies, unrecyclable materials and more to the 2024 donation drive hosted by EcoSuperior!
