Open Studio
SPRING 2026 we’re partnering with Lakehead University’s Visual Arts Department to host Open Studio — a chance to create in a shared working environment. Bring a creative project and supplies from home to use or share, or create using what supplies are available. Instruction is not provided, but skills sharing among artists is always welcome.
Participation is free and open to Lakehead University students and artists involved with Mindful Makers.

Room # MV2006 (upstairs), Lakehead University’s Music and Visual Arts Building
Participation is drop-in.
Typically anywhere from 6-12 individuals join us.
Transportation and Parking:
City busses stop at the University, and metered parking is available near by for $1.50 / hour. Parking passes are also available at the Pay and Display machine for the same hourly rate.
If parking/transportation is a barrier, please let Mindful Makers know and we will do our best to bring petty cash to help cover this cost.
To locate the William H. Buset Music and Visual Arts Building, view the campus map. It is located off the Agora Circle, near the bike shed.
Accessibility Notes:
We are fragrance free. Scented products often contain toxic ingredients which affect people in our community that suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities or Environmental Illnesses. Fragrances can have mild to debilitating effects on individuals—often lasting days. We ask that you refrain from using products that are scented.
Many Collective members live with compromised immune systems and/or chronic illness. So please do not attend our programs if you are experiencing any cold/flu symptoms. Masks are optional and provided.
